$167 Fine For Using Handheld Devices

As Of Today You Will Be Fined

The one month grace period has expired and from now one the police will be issuing $167 tickets for those who insist on using handheld devices while driving.

For novice and learner licences there will also be the loss of 3 demerit points in addition to the fine.

For the month of January police had been issuing warning tickets to those using handheld devices while driving.

The ban does not only include talking on your cellphone but also texting with other devices.
