Of Interest To Computer Geeks Only

China Takes Supercomputer Crown

The title of the world's supercomputer has gone to China's Tianhe-1A which is capable of carrying out more than 2.5 thousand trillion calculations a second.

The high speeds are attained by using more than 7,000 graphics processors and 14,000 Intel chips housed in more than 100 fridge-sized cabinets weighing more than 155 tonnes.

I can still remember when the pocket calculator was all the rage!
