$58,000 Severance - After 5 Months

WHO KEEPS WRITING THESE DEALS??

The Sudbury MPP was elected last June and for 'personal reasons' quit his position after only five months (I presume service) and was given the obligatory severance package of $58,000 'just because'.

Maybe, just maybe the general population might arouse from their slumber and start asking 'what the hell is going on with these sweetheart employment packages?'.

Last year, those severance packages cost Nanaimo taxpayers nearly $650,000 for three employees no longer in our employ. How much would you expect to be paid if you quit your job after working for five months??

  1. I did the math. As per my contract, my severance is based on years of service. I'd have to have 40 years of service to receive $58,000. And this is IF I was laid off.

If I quit, I may get a cake on my last day.
