Dale Schulz - Nanaimo 'As He Sees It' - May 19/16

This is the second in what I know will be a welcome addition to Nanaimo Info Blog.

Lifelong Nanaimo resident, professional artist and illustrator Dale Schulz 'sees' much of Nanaimo many of us simply walk by without giving a second thought.

Through the eyes of an artist the everyday can become almost magical and with a few simple photos of his daily walks, Dale captures and shares some of that magic on his Facebook page.

The following is the most recent example of what Dale sees when he walks about our lovely seaside community many of us just take for granted.

Dale's Post - May 19/16

Today Indy and I took our 'shortest' route into downtown - across Railway Avenue; down View Street and Victoria Road and right to the waterfront for coffee. We did stop along the way and get pictures - quite a few in fact.

Starting on Victoria Road, some beautiful purple flowers and some 'caged' yellow and pink ones. On Farquhar Street, an old garage that I like for some reason. I think cause it looks like an arrow. We turned up Robarts Street at the bottom of Victoria Road and I snapped a pic of Milford Crescent (beside Nob Hill Park). It is a pretty little lane.

The rusty pipe is behind the old Eatons building on Cavan Street. On Victoria Crescent I saw that they are demolishing the Cob bench that was at Thirsty Camel. No worries about the new paint job NOW Jake!

At the waterfront I shot the Bastion from Wharf Street; The Island Queen returning, and the "love is in the Air' sculpture at Maffeo Sutton Park.

On the way home I got two shots on Kennedy Street - one is a favourite fence - I KNOW - I have a favourite fence! I love the 'swiss cheese' look! And I shot a nice old gatepost.

LASTLY - and I thought I would be skunked today - but I found an‪#‎abandonedchair‬ on Railway Avenue.
