Nanaimo File # 2017-7619 Sometime overnight on Monday March 13, a 10 inch orange Rigid chop saw was stolen from a worksite on Norton Road. The saw is engraved with Oceangreen Homes or OGH.
Nanaimo File # 2017-7745 Sometime between 3 pm on Wednesday March 15, and 7 am on Thursday March 16th, a locked compound at 10 Wharf St was broken into and taken was a 24 inch Poulin chainsaw.
Nanaimo File # 2017-7913 On Friday March 17, just before 8 pm, a male shoplifter fled from the Real Canadian Superstore, after being apprehended by a loss Prevention Officer. The suspect had taken over 200 dollars of merchandise but dropped most of it when chased. The suspect is a First Nations male, approximately 5 ft. 9 and weighing 260 pounds. The only clothing description obtained was him wearing a black jacket.
Nanaimo File # 2017-8567 Sometime between March 16th, and March 18th, a hockey bag, one hockey stick and a vape pipe were taken from a vehicle parked on Orchard Circle. It appears the rear window was pried open and the equipment taken. The equipment is new and the cost to replace it is in the range of $2000.
Nanaimo File # 2017-8332 On Tuesday March 21st, a shed located in the backyard of a home on McGuffie was broken into. The unknown person also took some items from a 5th wheel parked nearby. Nothing of value was taken. Backyard sheds should always be locked as it reduces the opportunity of thievery which is often carried out by local teenagers.
Nanaimo File # 2017-8579 On Thursday March 23, a passerby reported seeing two youths, believed to be around 14 years of age dropping stones from the upper Lantzville overpass. No damage was reported and no description of the youths was provided. If this activity is seen, please call 911 immediately as this is an extremely dangerous activity which could bring death or serious bodily harm to an unsuspecting motorist.
Nanaimo File # 2017-8661 On Friday March 24, a break and enter was reported at 223 Commercial St and taken was a large company banner which spelled out "Real Estate Webmasters"
Nanaimo File # 2017-9078 Sometime after 6:30 pm on Monday March 27, a utility trailer parked on Crestline Terrace was broken into. The lock to the trailer had been cut with bolt cutters and taken was a generator and nail gun
Nanaimo file # 2017-9075 On Monday March 28, at approximately 6:45 am keys and shampoo were taken from the women's locker room while the owner was having an early morning swim. The keys had been accidentally left on the changing bench and are described as being 3 keys on a key loop.
